Job Summary: The Pre-Analytical Services Assistant plays a crucial role in the efficient handling of clinical specimens.
What You'll Be Doing:
Receipt of Consignments and Shipments: Assist with the receipt of consignments and shipments, ensuring accurate handling and documentation.Quality Check and Escalation: Open shipments and perform quality checks on patient information forms.
Escalate any incorrect or missing details or damaged shipments to senior staff.Disposal and Recycling: Responsible for the correct disposal and recycling of kit shipping supplies.Secondary Check of Shipping Materials: Conduct a secondary check of shipping materials to prevent specimens from being left in kit packaging.After-Hour Alarms and Job Critical Functions: Support and respond to after-hour alarms and other critical job functions.Equipment Maintenance: Assist in equipment maintenance.Inventory and Clean-Up: Help with supply inventory functions and general workstation clean-up.Administrative Duties: Perform various administrative duties as required.Work Area Organization: Organize the work area as requested by management.Handling Compounds and Control Material: Depending on the functional area, may also handle the receipt of compounds and control material.Safety Procedures: Follow safety procedures.Continuing Education: Participate in continuing education through self-study and attendance of meetings.Adherence to Procedures and Regulatory Guidelines: Perform work in accordance with company procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines. What We Are Looking For:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Experience: At least 6 months of related experience.Basic computer skills.Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow.Good working knowledge of relevant procedures.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed for This Role:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints).
Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and tasks.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $33,600.00 - $56,000.00.
The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
