A global Pharma/Biotech solutions provider is looking to bring on a Director of Business Development with expertise inpre-clinical and clinicalservices, ideally within Contract Research Organizations(CROs). This role will focus on expanding our client base in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO sectors, driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, client retention, and business development. You will develop and implement account strategies, collaborating with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions aligned with client objectives across their portfolio which includes regulatory-compliant solutions for sample management, multiomics analysis, and reporting within GCP/GLP frameworks.
Responsibilities: Business Development Strategy: Create and execute strategies togrow our pre-clinical and clinical services division, identifying new market opportunities.Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in biotech, pharmaceutical, andCROindustries to drive new business opportunities.Revenue Growth: Achieve sales and revenue targets by expanding the client portfolio and cultivating long-term partnerships.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams such as project management, marketing, and scientific experts to ensure alignment with client needs and successful project delivery.Market Analysis: Conduct research and competitive analysis to identify trends, new market segments, and client prospects.Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations, ensuring terms meet both company and client objectives.Customer Support: Provide top-tier support to clients, addressing their project requirements and concerns.Networking & Brand Visibility: Represent company at industry conferences and networking events to strengthen brand presence and attract new clients.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in life sciences,business, or a related field; advanced degrees (MBA, MSc, PhD) are preferred.7 years in business developmentwithin pre-clinical and clinical services, ideally with experience inCROs.Proven track record of achieving sales goals and closing deals in the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors.In-depth understanding of the drug development lifecycle, from discovery to clinical trials, and familiarity with pre-clinical and clinical services.Strong network in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO industries, with skills in developing and sustaining client relationships.Ability to design and implement business development plans aligned with organizational goals.Experience working across cross-functional teams, promoting a team-based culture.Background in managing business development forglobal or multi-national clients.Understanding of compliance standards in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.Location:Preferably near a major airport in the continental U.S. Candidates within an hour's drive from biotech hubs such asBoston, San Francisco, San Diego, Philadelphia, New York, or New Jerseyare preferred.Travel:Willingness to travel up to 50% for client meetings, business meetings, seminars, and conferences within the U.S.
