Personalized Health Partners, the Medical Practice associated with the CommuniCare Family of Healthcare Companies, is currently recruiting a Pre-Service Access Specialist to coordinate scheduling, medical records, billing, and other details that contribute to a successful patient visit.
QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Associates Degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Years of Experience: One-year experience in registration and scheduling, or other customer service required.
Required Skills & Proficiency:
Knowledge of basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with accessing web applications and EMR scheduling workflows.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with customers or families of customers who are often adversarial.
Ability to track details meticulously without becoming overwhelmed by them; precision and accuracy; ability to spot minor imperfections or errors and take action to correct them.
Attention to detail, teamwork skills, and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and as a team.
Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with multiple responsibilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Call, schedule, pre-register patient accounts via internal appointment scheduling processes and intake from facilities, as well as incoming line for outpatient clinic.
Create Medical Record numbers and enter registration information following established guidelines.
Collect demographic and billing information in a courteous and professional manner.
Identify, document, and provide feedback to management on issues that impact departmental workflow.
Answer customer's questions regarding preparations for appointments, directions to clinics, and general hospital questions.
Ensure accuracy and appropriate documentation in place.
Quality Improvement by remaining current on scheduling center protocols including daily updates.
Train and serve as a coach to new staff, as assigned.
Perform insurance eligibility verifications, identifying appropriate coverage, gaps in coverage, and prior authorizations as needed.
Assist in any addition follow up or tracking metrics as requested.
Assist in barrier identification and workflow optimizations.
