Responsibilities:
Job Purpose The role of a Prep Cook is to prepare base ingredients for our Line Cooks to use in order to prepare and assemble menu items.
You will be responsible for prepping items such as proteins, sliced deli meats and cheese, sauces, etc.
Requirements Prepare ingredients for service, including but not limited to chopping, portioning, mixing, etc.Clean up station and label items for proper storageWork quickly and efficiently to ensure timely and efficient delivery of ingredients for station useComply with health and sanitation regulationsAssist management in training new staff members within your department when applicableCommunicate to management all job functions needPerform other duties as requested by management
Qualifications:
Qualifications and Skills Previous high volume culinary experience, multiple stations a plus, but not requiredMust be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy and physically demanding environmentExcellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and proceduresMust be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionallyWork schedule varies and will include working on nights and weekends, and requires standing and/or walking for extended periodsCan withstand working with wet floors and high temperaturesFrequently wash hands and/or wear glovesSafe food handlers certification will be required after training periodCompensation $13-$15hr.
