POSITION PURPOSE A Lionheart Teacher has the primary responsibility for planning, organizing, and carrying out the selected developmental and spiritual programs for their classroom of children.

POSITION PURPOSE The Preschool Kitchen Cook is responsible for the general supervision of the nutrition program and all related food services of the school, and for the supervision of all custodial services necessary to maintain facilities in a hygienic, safe, and presentable condition. 
\n Key Performance Indicators Professional Knowledge: Demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum and the developmental needs of the children by providing relevant learning experiences. Maintaining a thorough knowledge and close adherence to the Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers, NAC accreditation standards, and the operating policies of Lionheart Children's Academy.Instructional Planning: Plans, supervises, and implements the programs for the class in accordance with the Academy Director and curriculum coordinator.Instructional Delivery: The teacher effectively engages students in learning by using a variety of instructional strategies in order to meet individual learning needs.Learning Environment: The teacher uses resources, routines, and procedures to provide a respectful, positive, safe, student-centered environment that is conducive to learning. Background, Experience and EducationAt least 18 years of age and high school diploma or GED certificate required Early education BA, AA or CDA highly preferredPrevious experience in a state licensed facility OR 24 hours of documented pre-service training required. Experience working in children's ministry is a plusMust meet all teacher qualifications as stated in the Minimum Standards for child care centers in the state in which you reside. Tasks Planning, making necessary purchases for, preparing, and serving meals and snacks to all children.Reviewing the food service program with the program administrator and/or nutritionist periodically and coordinating the program with the other activities of the school.Providing assistance to teachers for food and cooking experiences they may wish to plan for the classroom.Being familiar with minimum standards guidelines and food program requirements, including nutritional content of meals and food serving sizes.Being responsible for seeing that equipment is properly sanitized, put away, and that the kitchen is left in a safe and sanitary condition each day.Keeping an ongoing inventory of supplies. Academy Tasks Performing simple laundry tasks.Participating in an ongoing in-service training program to expand knowledge of child development in order to understand and meet the needs of the students.Meeting all requirements for employment in staff handbook.Attending all staff meetings, training sessions, staff work days, parent conferences, parent open houses, graduation programs, and other special functions as scheduled by the director.Maintaining current First-Aid and CPR certification during employment. Background, Experience and EducationAt least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or GED certificate are required.  Experienced cook and knowledge of basic principles of good nutrition. A demonstrated ability to plan for economy in shopping and to plan, prepare, and serve balanced meals and snacks.  Understanding of hygienic facility maintenance, good housekeeping standards, state licensing, and accrediting standards.Hold a Kitchen Manager Certification or a Food Handlers Certification, or the willingness to obtain Critical GiftsSpiritual maturity - committed and passionate follower of Jesus ChristDesire to reach children and parents for ChristFriendliness and a warmth towards peopleComfortable having spiritual conversations with children and adultsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAn ability to evaluate selfA clear and well-modulated voiceSelf-starterPersonal appearance that is neatGood personal cleanliness habitsWillingness to pursue studies in child development and/or nutrition

Rate offered is based on education and early childhood education experience in a licensed child care facility.
