The College of Education (COE) is seeking a Project Director for a recently funded five-year federal grant project, Preparing and Retaining Inclusive Maryland Educators (PRIME), focused on collaborating with school district and community college partners to improve the quality of Maryland's teacher pipeline, Towson's teacher preparation program, and induction.
The Project Director will be responsible for overall management of the grant project including coordinating and communicating with project partners; supporting members of the project and evaluation team; and overseeing project implementation, financial and administrative oversight, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation of the project.
Responsibilities and Duties Oversee program implementation and execution of project plans including regular communication with project leadership and coordination and implementation of day-to-day project activities.
Develop resources and support materials for the project.
Coordinate with the Program Specialists.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the project and works directly with faculty, COE leadership, teachers, district leadership, and the Towson Learning Network.
Responsible for reporting, budget monitoring, and processing financial transactions for the project.
Work closely with the COE Budget Specialist, Office of Sponsored Research, and project leadership on issues related to the budget.
Monitor project activities and performance to ensure adherence to project timelines.
Collaborate with project leadership, project evaluator, and project participants to evaluate quality of grant outputs and experiences.
Collect and provide data related to project as needed for reporting, marketing, and dissemination activities.
Ensure reports are completed and submitted by established deadlines.
Telework may be available for this position up to two days per week following the completion of 90 days of service in good standing. Qualifications and Skills
Required: Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in an education related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Strong communication, organization, and writing skills.
Strong collaborative skills.
Preferred: Experience in a leadership or similar position.
Prior experience with grants.
Familiarity with Maryland public schools.
Experience with teacher mentoring and support of preservice and/or in-service educators.
Experience with budget management and oversight.
Ability to write technical reports and program documents.
Salary and Benefits
Targeted Hiring Range is $68,000 - $74,000 and full University benefits that include 22 days of annual leave, up to 15 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission.
