We are seeking a skilled Cognos Administrator to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and optimizing Cognos BI systems, ensuring they meet performance standards and business requirements.
This role involves collaboration with project teams on BI architecture, migration tasks, and ongoing system maintenance.

Proven experience as a Cognos Administrator, with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
(or Master's degree + 5 years experience) Strong understanding of BI architecture and best practices.
Hands-on experience with Cognos V11.x, including administration, migration, and upgrades.
Proficient in SQL, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Certifications in IBM Cognos or related BI tools.
Experience with other BI tools and platforms.
Familiarity with cloud-based BI solutions.
Responsibilities: Collaborate with project teams on BI architecture design and decision-making to align with business goals.
Perform migration and upgrades to Cognos V11.x from older versions, having completed several migrations successfully.
Provide ongoing system maintenance, including patching, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
Execute basic Cognos administration tasks such as repository migration, dispatcher, and web gateway configuration.
Administer Cognos BI systems daily to ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
Demonstrate strong application administration and operating system troubleshooting skills, including handling common Windows errors (e.g., "Error 404") and database connection issues.
Recommend and maintain strategies for efficient migration of BI objects (models, reports, and content) across multiple environments from development to production.
Set up data marts and cubes to effectively meet business requirements Act as a technical contributor and steward of enterprise BI platforms, assessing the current state and implementing improvements and automation.
Help define a version control strategy for data models and reports.
Gather and analyze end-user requirements and build specifications accordingly.
Work independently and challenge delivery artifacts and solutions as necessary.
Recommend security setups, report performance improvements, and conduct tuning and indexing.
Utilize data mining techniques (SQL, ETL, data warehouse) in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
Provide expertise in Cognos reporting and plan and conduct Cognos Learn and work with new technologies to enhance BI capabilities.
