Our mission is to provide a reliable sending platform for customers by serving as an integral part of Klaviy's abuse prevention, detection and response ecosystem.
We balance risk mitigation with customer experience through proactive abuse detection and policy adherence with an educational mindset.
As a Principal Compliance Specialist you will optimize deliverability for all Klaviyo customers through technology, process, and cross functional collaboration.
You will help to reduce risk of abuse on the Klaviyo platform while enabling an optimal customer experience.
How you will make a difference: Support the implementation of the strategic vision for omni channel messaging compliance that is aligned with the company's focus on growth.Develop an in-depth knowledge of the Klaviyo platform, sending infrastructure, and compliance configurationsInfluence and inform tooling and technology requirements for the Compliance team with Engineering, Product, and Data Science team stakeholders.Receive, investigate, and address inquiries about compliance enforcement and policies to optimize Klaviyo's reputation in the broader messaging ecosystemEffectively manage project initiatives, and communicate program execution status, key accomplishments, and risks to management both within the Support organization and to our business partnersThink critically about what the team offers and how it executes.
Proactively propose and implement changes to systems and processes to help the team be successful.Create and implement innovative policies, guidance materials and procedures at both the global and local levels, working with the Compliance Governance Committee and other stakeholders across functions.Translate regulatory requirements to internal business partners and drive alignment on compliance requirementsEducate Klaviyo employees and customers on compliant messaging practices and, in collaboration with the Enablement and Customer education teams, create user guides and training materials.Aid Klaviyo in maintaining strong relationships with vendors by ensuring our internal processes improve our regulatory and policy compliance.Develop and implement new compliance measures as the market continues to evolve with new industry requirements.Maintain a high level of regulatory expertise in SMS and Email and other messaging channels to develop and continuously improve the compliance program; participate in relevant industry associations to engage on latest regulatory trends, emerging risks and best practice compliance programs.Who you are: An individual with recognized compliance, fraud operations or abuse prevention expertise of 4+ years of experienceRelevant program management of 4+ years delivering highly visible, business impacting iniatives in support of policy enforcement operations, or compliance operations teamSubject matter expertise in account, content, or messaging abuse on a messaging platform.Subject matter expertise in regulatory SMS and email compliance requirementsExperienced in project and program management, with the demonstrated ability to navigate complex cross-functional dependencies and drive collaboration across diverse teams.Comfortable working through ambiguity, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness in evolving situations.Passionate about creative problem solving for customers and internal teams.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence across all levels of the organization.Self-motivated, eager to learn and thrive in a collaborative environment.Capable of adapting quickly to changing priorities.Analytical and driven to achieve quantitative and qualitative targetsEmpathetic and customer-first; experienced with supporting a global customer base.Experienced in developing, championing, and managing internal compliance programs that have significant, positive, business impact.Strong technical acumen and the ability to translate data and investigative outcomes into actionable insights for Engineering, Product, and AI partners as well as senior leadership.Experienced with or able to quickly pick-up (a plus): Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite, Google Sheets, PowerPoint, Zendesk, Tableau, and Salesforce; open-source investigation techniques and familiarity with a variety of internet research tools, DNS, IPs and other networking concepts; Email marketing, SMS marketing and E-Commerce platforms
