We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to join our Corporate Development team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, innovation, and the Employee Experience ecosystem. You have a track record of successfully owning projects with measurable impact from ideation to execution and rollout. You are comfortable handling multiple – and competing – projects at the same time, adjusting your priorities on the fly. You know when to sweat the details and when to back off and look at the bigger picture. Long-term, having impact is what motivates you, so you are always thinking about how to move things along.
You will help drive BetterUp's corporate development strategy and execution and have a significant impact on the company and its future. You will own specific M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives end-to-end, developing insightful analyses and communicating clearly and compellingly. You will be involved in sensitive projects and need to maturely handle confidential information. You will work closely with the members of our leadership team, who rely on you to make smart recommendations and to lead change.
What you'll do: Lead the evaluation and execution of M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives, including opportunity assessment, business case development, valuation and financial modeling, and leading due diligence processes.Source, research, and recommend potential M&A and strategic opportunities.Frame questions, technical analysis, and meaningful and unbiased decision points for executives/stakeholders to make informed, efficient decisions.Be a subject matter expert on our industry, adjacent spaces, and relevant other companies.Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and leadership to evaluate and execute opportunities.If you have some or all of the following, please apply: 5-7 years of experience with a combination of top-tier technology, investment banking, and management consulting roles; must have prior experience with driving buy-side M&A transactions end-to-end in a previous corporate development role.Ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous work environment.Excellent analytical skills combined with a practical, quantifiable and structured approach to problem solving ("thesis building").Ability to perform rigorous financial, valuation, and broad quantitative analyses and familiarity with accounting & key operational metrics.Ability to context switch and ramp up quickly on new topics.Attentive to details and highly organized, with strong independent planning and process management skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that can educate, influence, and shape strategy; ability to kick off founder relationships.Ability to develop strong relationships and work across all organizational levels.Benefits: At BetterUp, we are committed to living out our mission every day, and that starts with providing benefits that allow our employees to care for themselves, support their families, and give back to their community.

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable), and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this role is $186,000 – $(MAXIMUM ZONE A).
If you live in New York, the base salary range for this role is:
$214,000 – $322,000: New York City
$186,000 – $280,000: Nassau, Newburgh, Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse.
