Pay PhilosophyThe typical starting salary range($108,000 - $135,500)for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
DescriptionAs aPrincipal Data Solutions Analystwithin our Financial Services Portfolio, you will work with our US Retail Market's Financeand FP&A teams where we aim to give our finance professionals modern toolsthat simplify their processes and enhance analytical insights. You will beresponsible for partnering across the finance teams to deliver a modernizedplanning, forecasting and budgeting platform and developing and executing avision for implementing this platform in our US organization.
In this role you'll have an opportunity to helpus define and execute next generation financial planning and analysis(FP&A) tools and process. You'll partner with a variety of US baseddevelopment teams to determine stakeholder needs, propose creative solutions to existing limitations, and break down the silos that currently exist betweenteams. You'll get exposure to new skills, technologies, and challenges everyday.
Operating at the intersection of businessstrategy and technical development, the Data Solutionsteam works closely with senior leadership, IT, finance, marketing, distribution& product teams to simplify and expand the company's ability to understand both where we've been and where we are going. By designing, building and implementing centralized data, planning and reporting solutions, we play a key role in connecting our US Retail Market's functions in a meaningful and impactful way.
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple projects parallelly toimplement system enhancements and new enterprise application solutions
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement innovative solutions to increase process efficiency
Establish strong working relationships with team members to understand processes, gather requirements and test solutions
Ask the right questions to draw the information needed to develop effective and efficient processes
Develop business processes and implement solutions for collection and management of requirements to ensure solutions meet business needs
Collaborate with business stakeholders in identifying/clarifying user story acceptance criteria and support user acceptance test planning
Identify issues within existing tools, processes and data sources and voice suggestions to the team to improve accuracy, decrease latency, and reduce inefficiencies
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance business processes, systems, and support
Prepare regular status update documentation / meetings for on-going projects and solutions
Create and maintain process documentation and lead end user training
Empower contractors through mentorship, foster collaboration, and achieve collective success
Lead the monthly book close process and take ownership on resolving data quality issues related to book close
QualificationsBachelor's degree in business or technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 8-10 years of related experience preferred
Proficiency with Office365, PowerBI, SAS, SQL, Anaplan, GEAC, Snowflake, SAP, Python and data analytics is required
Highly motivated / self-starter with a sense of ownership, high degree of curiosity and desire to succeed
Avid learner always seeking to gain new knowledge
Strong communicator to both business and technical stakeholders
Thoroughly understands the role and the importance of customer service to deliver value to the business
Proven experience brainstorming potential innovative ideas and executing the idea through to completion.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with demanding deadlines
A track record of following through on commitments.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues
Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities.
