To be a part of the FIFT (Fixed Income, Finance & Trading Services), a group within Fidelity Investment Asset Management Technology.
Expertise We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced software developer to contribute to ongoing project work of the trading, cash management, and market surveillance applications used by Fixed Income Investment Professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience in user interface, Java server side and SQL (Oracle) development, with a strong curiosity about building business applications for financial services. You will join an agile scrum team and play a hands-on role in the design, development, and testing of software applications in one of the FIFT product areas.
A strong understanding of the Agile software development lifecycle process.Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, or Engineering or similar.10+ Years of experience and proven experience with Java, Springboot, REST API, Angular, basic SQL and ETL.Skills You Bring
Experience and knowledge of Java (server-side) object-oriented programming skills and/or Python development.Experience of User Interface programming skills such as HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, and Angular.Experience in Microservices, Spring/SpringBoot.Experience developing REST API's.Experience working in public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, knowledge of Docker, EKS, serverless architecture is a plus.Familiarity with ETL processes, knowledge of Informatica/Snaplogic, functional programming skills (preferably Scala/Python) is a plus.Experience and Knowledge of messaging frameworks such as Kafka.Experience with CI/CD tools, frameworks, and methodologies like Jenkin, Maven, Blue/Green etc.Experience and knowledge of Cucumber, Karate, Cypress, or similar frameworks is a plus. Knowledge of SQL development and PLSQL procedures.Fast learner and an excellent teammate.You can efficiently work on a small development team, as well as lead in-depth technical designs.You are self-motivated, guided, and have a strong customer focus and results-oriented approach.You have strong written and verbal communication skills to successfully engage with the technical team.Value You Deliver
Deliver time-to-market solutions, helping business partners use technology in an exploratory, highly iterative environment.Help our investment teams evolve their investment processes, to meet both short-term needs and long-term trends, using technology.You will lead the design and implementation of software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements.Primary Responsibilities Work with product owners and business analysts to understand the business and technical requirements.Define the system requirements and technical design for specific components within a release.Active hands-on role in design and development for interface (Angular) or Java, Python or Scala/AKKA based middle tier services.Collaborate with Architecture, Data Services, and other Technology Teams.Fully engaging in product quality plan efforts, including test case development, design and code reviews and regression testing.Actively contribute to promote engineering practices and the definition of source control strategy, performance strategy, environment strategy, and build and deployment pipelines.Coordinate and deploy product releases.Be part of an on-call rotation to provide Level 3 production support for our applications.Develop, document, and communicate design artifacts within the team.Maintain trusted relationships with business partners.Able to guide, mentor other associates and be highly productive in an agile project delivery environment.How Your Work Impacts the Organization Fidelity Asset Management Technology provides worldwide technology and support to all the Portfolio Management, Research, Trading, and Investment Operations functions.
