Archetype Entertainment is a new game studio in Austin, Texas led by industry veterans from BioWare and other AAA studios. Archetype is a division of Wizards of the Coast (Hasbro). We are building a development team with world-class talent to create a new science fiction universe for our first multiplatform roleplaying video game.
Our goal is to create the greatest story-driven roleplaying games in the world.

The Role
Do you see the world through lighting and shadow, love science fiction and have an obsession with Kodachrome? We are looking for an outstanding PrincipalLighting Artistto join our team! This role requires an eye for beautiful layout and composition, and proven skill delivering mood and tone in a real-time environment. You are collaborative and creative in your efforts to use tools and techniques in order to build immersive and well-crafted environments.
What You'll Do
Collaborate with our Art Director, standardizing the physically base lighting for the game.
Perform a wide range of lighting tasks, from block out to final polish.
Execute a clear visual hierarchy to guide players through exciting worlds collaborating with designers, artists and engineers.
Ensure that lighting meets all performance standards.
What You'll Bring
7+ years of experience working in video games with at least 2 shipped AAA titles.
Knowledge of developing lighting within a physically based lighting engine.
Experience and familiarity with Unreal 5 and Lumen a huge plus.
Experience with cinematic lighting a huge plus.
Compensation Range, Currency USD:
Starting Pay Range: $121,900
Pay Range End: $237,900
