The Shire of Dandaragan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Planning and Building Officer to join our Development Services team. This role is pivotal in managing the Shire's town planning services, building approvals, and compliance services, ensuring the orderly and proper development of the Shire.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee the delivery of town planning and building approval services.Manage the maintenance and upgrade of the Shire's building assets.Provide leadership and supervision to a team of planning and building professionals.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes, and standards.Liaise with residents, ratepayers, government departments, and other stakeholders.Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent.At least 5 years of experience in town planning and environmental planning.Comprehensive knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant legislation.Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Experience in managing and leading a team.Experience as a Building Surveyor.Knowledge of GIS platforms and local government procedures.Why Join Us?
