About the Role We are in search of a foundational Principal Scientist who is primed to operate at the intersection of biology, big data, and mass spectrometry.
This role will be a pivotal partner to laboratory operations leadership, driving client success, and communicating transformative biological insights to our customers.
Within this capacity, you will steer study design, project plans, and orchestrate seamless handoff of information from scientific partners to laboratory personnel.
Your scope of influence extends to bolstering the evolution and upkeep of Sapient quality systems while championing client projects.
As a Principal Scientist at Sapient Bioanalytical, you will be responsible for developing research strategies for projects, including initiating projects with clients and overseeing them through both the wet (mass spectrometry) and dry (data science) laboratories.
You will help interpret project results and communicate them with clients.
Additional tasks include reviewing mass spectral data and analyses, preparing figures and tables for final data presentations and publications, compiling data packages and results for release to clients, and MS/MS-based compound identification.

What awaits you Collaborate with top-tier thinkers and experts that promote personal and professional growth through enriching training initiatives.Assume ownership and effect immediate impact on an early-stage team, catalyzing improvements that stand to benefit countless lives.Project management between the client and within the wet- and dry-lab to ensure deliverables are being met and troubleshooting when necessary.Develop research strategies and analysis plans for projects.Review mass spectrometry spectra and perform compound identification.Ensure results are generated to the appropriate quality and regulatory standards for their intended purpose.Compile data and results into final presentations and data packages.Prioritize, organize, and understand numerous projects to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.Interpret scientific results.Remain current with scientific literature and technological advancements.What we're looking for D./M.D.
in a relevant field (e.g.
chemistry, biochemistry, biology, pharmacology, clinician).At least 3 years of prior mass spectrometry experience and 1 year of management experience.Enjoys educating internal and external stakeholders.Ability to manage many tasks in parallel, complete projects on time, and work well in a team setting.Knowledge of mass spectrometry technologies and analysis.In-depth understanding of LC-MS, mass spectrometry data, and identification of compounds from MS/MS spectra.Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational skills.Possesses a strong analytical mindset to interpret complex data and draw meaningful conclusions.Thrives in collaborative environments, capable of working seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams that may include biologists, chemists, clinicians, software engineers, and data scientists.Exhibits meticulousness in work product to ensure accurate and reliable results.Keeps up-to-date with the latest advancements in precision medicine.Can articulate complex scientific concepts in a clear and concise manner, both in writing and in presentations.Effective at collaborating with peers, mentoring junior researchers, and participating in scientific discussions.Sapient is an equal opportunity employer.
