Principal Software Engineer, Video Players

About the Role As a Principal Software Engineer on the video player team, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of a next-generation video player library. You will advocate for excellence in operations, engineering, and delivery. By establishing relationships across Engineering, Program Management, Product, and QA, you will help create a technology roadmap to achieve primary goals. You will join an international team of 100+ engineers and leaders that have established a strong presence in the industry.
In this role, you will report to the Director of Video Players.
We are considering applicants for the location(s) of San Francisco, CA; Culver City, CA; or remote (US West Coast preferred).

You are passionate about technology and the streaming space with 12+ years of industry experience.You sustain core values of excellence in operations, delivery, and engineering.You have been a developer, technical leader, and architect of front-end customer-facing applications.You have developed solutions used by millions of users.You can demonstrate experience working with product and program peers to establish technology roadmaps.You can demonstrate experience leading technology leaders and driving important engineering programs.You apply judgment and experience to balance trade-offs between competing interests.You have expertise in multimedia frameworks and protocols, such as MPEG-DASH and HLS.You have hands-on experience developing in multiple code stacks - mobile, web, backend, db, infrastructure.
