THE ROLE:
As a Principal Validation Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of the team responsible to achieve best in class validation methodologies. You will be engaged in design, development, validation, characterization and qualification of Micron's next generation SSD Enterprise and data center products. The future of non-volatile memory and the systems that utilize the advanced technology will continue to be exciting and dynamic. Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop test plans, test cases and test scripts to validate Enterprise and Datacenter class NVMe SSD products.
Lead a team of development engineers and cater the required guidance on deliverables, feedback and mentoring to ensure the deliverables are adhering to committed timelines.
Work with Architecture, Design, Hardware and Firmware engineering teams to build and execute SSD validation test cases, triage failures, and drive them to resolution.
Providing technical expertise in validation methodology and design.
Analyze project requirements and technical specifications for Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) SSDs.
Troubleshoot SSD and software integration issues, implement systematic approaches to reproduce and root cause the problem.
Own development of test sequences and libraries to validate SSD.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams on test strategy and design.
Drive validation effectiveness and efficiencies across the product portfolio.
Review current test plans, coverage and testing activities to drive both increased effectiveness and efficiencies across the product portfolio.
Recommend and instrument new validation approaches that drive better end-to-end coverage, more accurate testing and expanded testing services.
Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates.
Be able to demonstrate success in communicating status, issues, concerns, strategies of programs and projects - including development of appropriate indicators.
Must be able to deal with ambiguity and operate with little direction to meet defined goals.
Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in SSD Firmware Validation.
Experience in leading a team is highly preferred.
Understanding of black box test methods for Enterprise / Datacenter SSD Firmware is strong plus.
Good hands on experience in debugging NVMe Protocol issues using Lecroy/SerialTek analyzers is highly desired.
Integrate tests into an automated test environment and collaborate with test execution teams to drive validation plans/strategy.
Good Knowledge of coding in Python and Linux operating system.
Effective oral and written communication with strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills
Demonstrated ability to work well with others and collaborate effectively in a team environment
Expert planning and tracking skills, able to see big picture, well-organized, focused on results, capable of managing multiple projects, excellent time management with respect to priorities and self-management.
Must have excellent knowledge of system storage and the relationship to the platform ingredients: CPU, Memory, PCIe, drivers, OS, firmware, etc.
Education
BS/MS in Electronics Engineering/Computer Science with relative working experience.
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$165,000.00 - $280,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
