Privacy Counsel

Job Description Privacy Counsel:
The Privacy Counsel as a member of Philips Central Legal Privacy Function is responsible for participating in the development of Group-wide privacy and data protection principles, policies and practices as well as their implementation within a business group or function.


Your role: Responsible for guiding business and functional leaders in understanding and fulfilling their privacy compliance obligations, in line with Philips privacy policies and data protection laws.
You will support the implementation and monitoring of the Central Privacy Compliance Program, ensuring that your assigned business group or function is compliant with all relevant standards, policies, and laws.
Conducting privacy compliance assessments, maintaining processing registries, and embedding privacy by design into business processes, products, and services.
You will provide expert advice, create tailored training programs, and serve as the lead for privacy investigations and data breach responses, ensuring compliance and security.
Work closely with various internal stakeholders to deliver privacy legal support, including due diligence for third-party processors and M&A transactions.
You're the right fit if: You've acquired 5+ years of experience in privacy and data protection, with a legal or compliance background, preferably in an international environment.
Your skills include a strong knowledge of US and EU privacy laws such as HIPAA, GDPR, and CCPA.
Experience in privacy assessments and compliance program implementation is preferred.
You have a legal degree (JD, LLB, or LLM) and ideally a Certified International Privacy Professional certification or equivalent.
You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong practical business judgment and a customer-oriented mindset.
You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities.

Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $145,040 to $207,200.


The pay range for this position in Malvern, PA is $135,975 to $194,250.


The pay range for this position in Pittsburg, PA is $129,500 to $185,00.


The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.


In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.
For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Cambridge, MA, Malvern, PA or Pittsburgh, PA.
