The Analytics & Data (A&D) organization is a key growth area within Morgan Stanley's Wealth Management Division, playing a critical role in the execution of the wider Wealth Management strategy. A&D supports Wealth Management's business objective of delivering investment advice and driving tactical decision making at scale by utilizing data and analytical tools to drive innovation in an increasingly competitive landscape. The role will lead execution of Analytics initiatives key to firm objectives, with focus on the Private Wealth Management business. PWM consists of various business areas such as the Private Wealth Advisor Strategy, Ultra High Net Worth Business Development / Events, Family Office, Strategic Client Management, and International Wealth Management (IWM). The position will partner directly with leadership across the Private Wealth Management business to identify opportunities and recommend the best solutions for business growth. The role will include a balance of executive communication/problem solving and technical skill building and growth. Additional details on job responsibilities include:
Collaborate closely with business partners and be a stakeholder in their success and outcomes. Act as a thought leader to identify business problems, and actively work with the business to determine solutions utilizing insights from data.Strong executive communication with ability to distill data findings into actionable insights for the business.Effectively present work completed – why it matters, what was your approach, and what are your recommendations?Execute upon data solutions alongside partners with consistent communication – leveraging best practices in data manipulation and visualization.Maintain a consistent level of attention to risk mitigation and data quality issues. Proactively raise at-risk areas to be addressed.Some of the tools we use include: Coding (Python, SQL, or R)Databricks, Salesforce, JIRA, Qualtrics, Collibra, and othersJob Responsibilities:Partner with PWM (Private Wealth Management) senior leaders to identify analytics opportunities and determine requirements.Collaborate with senior leaders to drive actionable insights based on data and analytics.Strong executive presence and executive communication with ability to distill data findings into actionable insights for business.Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and serve as a leader/coach for other team members across the team.Execute upon data solutions alongside business partners with consistent communication – leveraging best practices in data manipulation, and Tableau. Candidate should program manage multiple projects effectively.Maintain a consistent level of attention to risk mitigation and data quality issues. Proactively raise at-risk areas to be addressed.Qualifications8+ years business analytics, product analytics, and project management experienceBachelor's Degree requiredStrong proficiency in executive communication, both verbal and written (PowerPoint deck builds)Strong proficiency in data manipulation (SQL or Python), and familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI)Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to determine business partner needs and identify solutionsAbility to work both independently and effectively in a teamExpected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
