Process Engineer

*This position does not provide relocation assistance* The Process Engineer is essential in optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, throughput, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. This role provides an opportunity to develop expertise in process improvements and manage capital projects from concept through startup. Responsibilities: Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams through process studies, troubleshooting, optimization, and historical data management to monitor and control key operating parameters. Lead projects up to $500K, coordinating with contractors and consultants as necessary. Implement capital permits, projects, and engineering studies in alignment with plant goals, adhering to safety, ethics, and engineering standards. Support the plant safety team by contributing technical knowledge to design or redesign work processes to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses. Identify, develop, and initiate capital projects with implementation timelines of 1-2 years. Conduct process training and ensure documentation is updated upon project completion. Stay current in the field, assess innovative technologies, and propose new ideas to improve efficiency and process capability. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent technical experience. Preferred degrees include Chemical, Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering. Experience in process improvement within a manufacturing environment. Proven skills in troubleshooting processes and equipment, identifying improvement opportunities, implementing action plans, and ensuring results. Ability to successfully execute capital projects/permits and perform engineering functions within a manufacturing setting. Knowledge of the corn wet milling process and its operational fundamentals is preferred. Ideal Candidate Attributes: Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical information and drafting clear, concise reports. Ability to work effectively in a team, build consensus, and foster relationships across various organizational levels and functions.
