Position Summary: Southwest Steel Processing is seeking a Senior Process Engineer, Lead, to spearhead manufacturing process improvements and optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness within our facility. This role will oversee a team or project, make pivotal technical decisions, and drive process innovation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering with leadership experience and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Job Duties: Design, develop, and optimize processes to improve efficiency and product quality.Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments.Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues, ensuring product quality and adherence to engineering standards. Ensure all engineering processes are followed and quality standards are maintained.Troubleshoot process problems and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance department to develop and implement process control plans.Lead process improvement projects from conception through implementation.Identify opportunities for cost reduction through process improvements and waste elimination.Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to minimize process-related hazards.Create and maintain detailed process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).Train production personnel on new processes and improvements to existing processes.What you need to be successful: Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field5 or more years of experience in engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.Strong understanding of engineering principles and processes.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.Strong understanding of forging processes, materials science, and metallurgy.Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools.Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologiesSouthwest Steel Processing is an equal opportunity employer.
