This position provides engineering support and direction for manufacturing tool and die products in a job shop environment.
This includes creating and maintaining documentation/information for process routing, manufacturing prints, and related product ECNs.
A continuous improvement mindset and ability to handle improvement projects will be critical for this role as Link Tool seeks manufacturing excellence.
This position will also support manufacturing by acquiring material and tooling as necessary.
The creation and management of manufacturing operation routings.
Determine the best order of operations to manufacture.
Offer suggestions and improvements on established manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot problems associated with manufacturing processes.
Develop an understanding of Link Tool's equipment capabilities and limitations.
Identify opportunities for new or upgraded equipment.
Assist in building business cases for capital investments.
Lead continuous improvement projects aimed to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
The creation, documentation, and revision of manufacturing product prints related to the manufacturing of tooling.
Process prints, fixture prints, tooling prints, etc.
Generation of process, product, and material deviations, where appropriate, to assure an acceptable level of productivity, without sacrificing product quality.
Research technical issues and provides analysis and opinion.
Keeps informed of new industry developments by reviewing trade journals, attending shows, conventions, and seminars.
Assist the plant in maintaining appropriate levels of raw material and manufacturing tools.
Operate power tools and other machinery while following strict safety guidelines.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Tool Room production environment.
Ability to read manufacturing blueprints.
Visual acuity for detailed work.
Must be able to communicate clearly.
Must be able to lift approximately 5-10 lbs.
