The Manager of Process Engineering include the initiation of manufacturing process-related ideas, concepts and/or procedures to ensure conformity to customer specifications and production capabilities.
The Process Engineer will develop process technology in an effort to improve existing capabilities, with consideration towards cost, efficiency, schedules and availability of raw materials.
This position also includes the above process engineering duties in the Company's Irradiation Machines.
Suggest, coordinate, and implement capital improvements (projects) in assigned manufacturing areas in the Company, in line with Company business plans.
Responsible to develop manufacturing technology and improve manufacturing processes as they apply to the production of wire and cable products.
Accomplish engineering tasks that require technical data gathering and analysis, problem identification and resolutions, process evaluation, cost analysis and reduction, as well as capital project justification and implementation.
2) Initiates ideas, suggestions and recommendation within the area of assigned projects.
Assists in controlling manufacturing processes by recommending the most efficient use of equipment, materials and manpower.
Diagnosis of manufacturing problems as they relate to machinery, materials and processes; identifies and implements appropriate corrective actions.
3) Directly involved in scrap reduction, primarily as it relates to the use of materials.
Assists in developing improved methods of manufacturing to reduce scrap, limit excessive usage of raw materials; and developing efficient and economical means of salvaging scrap.
4) Assists in special projects dealing with cost reduction studies, equipment utilization and downtime reduction, auditing quality control procedures, instructing manufacturing supervision in new processes and procedures, training of operators in new manufacturing techniques, and general "troubleshooting" of manufacturing processes.
Maintains contact with vendors to keep abreast of new processes and latest manufacturing methods and technologies.
7) Acts to implement and support all programs related to operational improvements on the shop floor.
Includes, but not limited to, activities pertaining to:
Product quality improvements
Efficiency and productivity improvements
Process improvements and process cost reductions
Control of material usage and scrap reduction
8) Direct and provide assistance for all Irradiation Machines activities and improvements/upgrades (troubleshooting, repair, PMs, component and system upgrades) in the department.
9) Assist and coordinate all outside maintenance service/repair contractors who perform work on all the machines in the Irradiation Department.
10) Maintain and incorporate revisions/updates on all machines' documentation and prints in the department.
11) Manage the on-hand spare/replacement parts inventories, as well as the test equipment use for repairing and troubleshooting all machines.
12) Assist in training all production personnel on the proper operation of machines in the department.
Develop and maintain all training documentation (manuals, posted instructions, computer information screens, etc.)
for all operators.
13) Develop and maintain all product processing information (documentation) for each machine.
14) Perform the duties and responsibilities of the Irradiation Safety Officer for the entire department.

Equivalent to ten years technical experience in a Manufacturing Engineering, Production or related activity in a wire and cable manufacturing environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with all organization levels, both orally and written.
Strong aptitude for combining technical and management disciplines.
Leadership potential essential to success.
Organized and disciplined approach to problem solving.
Four-year Engineering or Manufacturing Technology degree, or two-year Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, or related technical field, coupled with relevant work experience.
Will consider equivalent work experiences in a wire and cable manufacturing environment in lieu of formal degree Following receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check as permitted or required by applicable law.
