The Electrical Carbon Business of Morgan Advanced Materials designs and manufactures a broad range of high performance solutions for rotary transfer systems, linear transfer systems and electrical carbon systems.

Major Responsibilities of the Process Engineering Technician:
Develop, implement, and manage the manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment designed to ensure
continuous production of advanced ceramic and composite materials that meet or exceed our customers'
expectations. Ensure that these manufacturing processes, methods, and equipment meet or exceed the
requirements of our ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100 Certifications and are consistent with established standards,
customer specifications, and production goals. Perform roles and responsibilities in accordance with direction from
the Process Engineering Manager.
Essential Functions:
1. Develops and implements safe, optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes, methods, and
equipment platforms.
2. Performs research, design, and development of manufacturing processes, including production work
flow, raw material specifications, mixing, molding, and high temperature baking processes, and
equipment specifications.
3. Recommends and implements improvements to manufacturing processes, methods, and controls.
4. Designs, develops, tests, and/or outsources various processes, machinery, and equipment for
recommended manufacturing methods.
5. Develops manufacturing Drawings, Bills of Materials, Routers, Work Instructions, and Control Plans
using manufacturing engineering best practices.
6. Performs product/process analysis and implements continuous improvement initiatives for cost
reduction, scrap reduction, yield improvements and increased overall equipment efficiency.
7. Participates in PFMEAs on manufacturing processes, methods, equipment, and controls.
8. Represents process engineering on cross-functional teams like APQP and the MRB.
9. Participates in concurrent engineering design reviews.
10. Supports the conversion of small-scale processes into commercially viable large-scale operations.
11. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products, processes, and equipment.
12. Evaluates, trouble shoots, and solves production problems on the shop floor.
13. Assists in training all shop floor associates on manufacturing processes and methods.
14. Assumes responsibility for the safety and environmental issues associated with the manufacturing
processes and equipment.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
· High school graduate or equivalent is required. Associate Degree in applicable technical field or technical training preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials Science).
· Proficient in basic math skills – multiplication, division, addition and subtraction is required.
· Related manufacturing experience is desired.
· Prior experience working with manufacturing processes that utilize raw material handling, mixing, molding, and high temperature baking equipment (mixers, presses, ovens, etc.) is desired.
· Basic understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100 is desired.
· Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques is desired.
· Experience with developing/documenting procedures is required.
· Computer proficiency.

· Must be familiar with Microsoft Word-Processing and Spreadsheet (Excel) software.

· Must be able to work well with external contacts of the Company.
· Must have good time management, planning and negotiation skills.
· Must adhere to all Company policies.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be capable of sitting and using a computer for the majority of an 8-hour workday.
· Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
· Must be capable of traveling within the US and Internationally
