Procurement Manager, Global Procurement OrganisationAmazon's India Operations' Capex Procurement team is hiring for a Procurement Manager for Capex Categories with Pan-India responsibilities. The Procurement Manager will manage multiple categories/subcategories and projects of increased complexity, operate with significant autonomy and discretion, influence other internal teams, and manage direct reports.
Categories include HVAC, Electrical, MEP, Shelving & Civil works, Equipment, warehouse consumables, Material handling equipment, Automation, etc.
In this role, the person will define and own the vendor performance, procurement strategies, bid management, contract management, and innovation roadmap for the category. The person will work closely with the design engineering team and vendors to evaluate technologies to adopt cost-efficient yet high-quality solutions. The person will lead in creating the industry benchmark procurement processes and work side-by-side with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the best for the end customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
1. Manage the spend of the allocated category through sourcing of vendors, negotiating commercial terms of procurement, executing agreements and contracts, and ensuring compliance. Own and drive all decisions made for the allocated category. Operate with significant autonomy and discretion.
2. Develop, define, and implement sourcing strategy by collaborating with cross-functional teams. Use the strategies to negotiate vendor commercials and contracts and processes. Define the game plan for driving lower Total Cost of Ownership. Communicate initiatives to gain customer and supplier buy-in and to drive them towards anticipated outcomes;
3. Use knowledge of the market segment for assigned categories to identify trends and mitigate potential market-related issues;
4. Own supplier performance and supplier life cycle. Determine which suppliers should be positioned for long-term contracts based on their overall value to the business. Represent Amazon professionally in front of vendors and external stakeholders.
5. Establish and implement standards for partnering with these suppliers. Influence and insist that vendors adopt the highest standards in compliance, audits, and new global supplier capability enhancement programs.
6. Establish supplier diversity/sourcing targets and expand current supplier selection options accordingly. Regularly evaluate these targets to raise the bar in terms of deliverables;
7. Articulate and publish KPI metric dashboards, program updates, and success stories regularly. Promote procurement internally and externally.
