RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in leading all product design initiatives and contribute to defining the future of Slickdeals products
Collaborate and lead design discussions closely with engineering and product teams to ensure that designs are technically feasible and aligned with goals
Assist in facilitating and leading design workshops and design sprints
Create detailed wireframes, advanced prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that effectively communicate design concepts and interactions
Lead and conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and improve user satisfaction
Proactively contribute feedback across our funnel, such as acquisition, activation, engagement, and monetization
Design growth systems, experiments, A/B tests, and new product features to connect our users to more value more often
Own design QA and work with the development team to ensure that designs are implemented to the highest standard and reflect quality UX on all your projects
Assist in leading conversion rate optimization to improve and iterate on designs based on user feedback and product goals
Assist in managing the Slickdeals design system and maintain design libraries to ensure consistency across products
Effectively translate brand guidelines into a design system, from colors, to typography to iconography
Contribute to leading design thinking skills to other areas of the platform (Research, Product Education, Customer Success, etc.)
Craft beautiful UI that is functional and delightful. Consistently meet high quality visual design. You can evolve UI styles for an existing design system
Establish critical strategic and operational goals; develops and implements new products, processes, standards or operational plans to achieve strategies
Accuracy, conciseness, and clear communication. In addition, you have an inclusive mindset and can juggle other's perspectives along with yours
SKILL SETS:
Advanced design principles (typography, layout, color theory, etc.)
Figma, photoshop, illustrator
Wireframing
User flow mapping
Interaction Design
End to end prototyping
User research & strategy
Analytics & heat mapping methods
Conducting user interviews and surveys
Project management
Project estimates
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 3 years of product design experience for cross-platform web and mobile applications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience
Background in graphic design is ideal but not required
Experience designing and shipping an end-to-end product with complicated flows, multiple scenarios and edge cases
Ability to work in a fast paced environment where you will sometimes be juggling three projects simultaneously throughout the week
Proven ability to empathize with and build solutions for users
Ability to provide design variations and rationalize your design choices
Ability to organize and communicate your thoughts and motivations with different audiences from long time existing users to new and potential users
Experience conducting user research including user interviews, surveys and industry analysis
Ability to present research and strategy in an organized and digestible format for product teams
Ability to think at a high level about product strategy and long term visions
Self-motivated and able to efficiently run a project without close supervision
Love to discuss designs in groups, participate in design critiques, reviews and workshops
Your process is well-defined and consistently leads you to successful solutions. You justify all design decisions with data and move fast through the Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver phases
Passionate about using data and user research to inform design decisions
Experience in ad monetization use cases is a plus
A keen eye for UI and visual design
LOCATION
: Los Angeles, San Mateo, Las Vegas
Hybrid with 1-2 days a week in our incredible new LA penthouse office in Westwood, CA.
In addition, opportunity to work out of our San Mateo or Las Vegas office.
TRAVEL: 10%
Some travel for onsite workshops and design sprints will be required from time to time when kicking off new projects or strategic planning initiatives. Most take place in LA however sometimes in the Las Vegas office as this is where our engineering teams are located.
