GENERAL SUMMARY The Global Product Manager position at Rapid Micro Biosystems leads the global marketing, customer, and internal activities related to our flagship Growth Direct® platform. This person will be the voice for their product lines, driving and managing key activities to ensure their products' and the company's success. This person will lead the profit and loss (P&L) for RMB's system and software offerings and serve as a key interface between the Commercial, Quality, and Operations groups to deliver a high-quality product to our customers. The position combines strategic leadership analysis with tactical execution in areas such as market strategy, new product development and launches, customer applications initiatives, brand positioning and messaging, and operational excellence. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS · Provide commercial and operational leadership for product family · Manage activities supporting the 4P's (product, price, placement, promotion) for RMB's system & software products · Drive strategic planning for existing and new products and markets o Market assessment including sizing and segmentation o Competitor analysis o Market research including technology assessment, customer surveys and focus groups, and consultant engagements o Develop marketing campaigns with cross-functional teams · Develop new products from initiation, through launch, and throughout product lifecycle o Includes leadership through the product commercialization process to create strategy, business case, Voice of Customer (VOC), User Requirements, applications planning and review, go-to-market plans, and post-launch metrics review · Establish customer- and commercial- facing communication related to the product families · Develop cross-functional partnerships across the organization to ensure robust pipeline development and increased system placements · Support overall company leadership and activities, including specific program and product leadership · Advance internal projects for continued enhancement of our consumable's offerings · Manage P&L for the Growth Direct® platform · Other duties as assigned by manager OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · n/a PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES · Bachelor's degree in science/engineering, life sciences preferred. Will consider candidates with business or marketing degree. · Minimum of 3-5 years' experience marketing biopharmaceutical, microbiology, and/or related products · Scientific instrument/system/platform product experience strongly preferred · Understanding in developing business cases and leading new market entry · Knowledge and success working with cross-departmental teams · Hands-on success in driving the stage-gate commercialization of product launches · High level of intensity and success in driving actions to completion, with view to metrics including timeline and budget · External (customer facing) experience within a manufacturing or distribution business for laboratory analysis equipment a strong plus · Strong planning, project management, and meeting leadership skills · High prioritization, leadership and decision-making skills · Robust data management and excel modeling capabilities preferred · Ability to work effectively and influence others · Demonstrated oral & written communications and interpersonal skills – strong customer orientation · Highly motivated and proactive with a proven ability to identify opportunities, take initiative, and drive projects forward independently SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY · n/a WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS · Ability to travel globally · Approximately 10-20% travel
