THE COMPANY

Our Fairlawn, OH location is seeking a Product Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, has strong relationship building skills, and is a strategic thinker.

THE POSITION
Product Manager for Aftermarket Automotive Products for North America, will provide support to Continental's automotive aftermarket hose and belt business, leading to increased revenue and margin through strategic, sustainable, profitable growth by the delivery of effective and creative channel, product and pricing marketing programs and services, specific to timing and serpentine system products. New Product Development and Management: Responsible for working with internal engineering as well as outside suppliers in developing and implementing new market solutions for timing and serpentine tensioners and kits. This is achieved through market research and voice of the customer. Top priority is to develop new product business cases and manage the development process by regularly managing and monitoring of the development teams, both internal and at external vendors. Manage and prioritize the work of the development or outside sourcing team to reach our New Product Development timelines.
Outside Sourcing Initiatives: Support outside sourcing initiatives by working with current and new vendors that will satisfy our product requirements, working with our Purchasing Team and other internal resources as necessary to acquire the necessary product at the right price, quantity, quality and terms.
Applications Coverage: Working in conjunction with Applications team, locate new products that include timing belt kits, serpentine tensioners and FEAD pulleys, through internal or external sources, using market research from competitors or available market data, managing all aspects of the path to market introduction including acquisition of samples, documentation of product attributes, catalog development, packaging development, SAP development, vendor sourcing, plant or warehouse production, pricing, and inventory. This could include technical trainings with customers and managing Labor Claims wit initial analysis of returned parts, communicating with customer and supplier as necessary.
Strategic and Market Initiatives to drive Revenue growth: Key focus on automotive and heavy-duty markets timing belt kits and serpentine tensioners with long and short-term strategies for the key products. Work with the sales team to research, develop and launch new products or changes to current products per market demands.
Inventory Levels: Working as a team with Supply Chain and Warehousing, manage inventory levels and reduce when necessary. Manage the teams at Moberly and supply chain to work within the strategies of Aftermarket marketing to meet designated annual inventory metrics.
Pricing: Research and validate market demand, market price, competitor's prices to establish product market price in alignment with Continental's business strategy. Develop margin improvement through cost management, inventory control, and Channel Manger collaboration. Assist Pricing team and Channel Managers when necessary to best attain EBIT goals.
Reporting: Utilize SAP and Qlikview to monitor OTIF, Billings, Backlogs and Sales and monitor sales trends.

Your profile
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business, automotive distribution, engineering, or related field.
2+ years' experience in business-to-business and/or engineering with emphasis in automotive products.
Proficient in MS Office Suites
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ year of project management experience.
