Job Title: Product Manager - Work Management
Are you a subject matter expert in project management and operations within the telecommunications or utilities industry? Do you have a passion for understanding customer needs and translating them into innovative product solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic Product Management Group as a Product Manager - Work Management.
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the success of our work management products, catering to the unique needs of the telecommunications and utilities markets. You will be responsible for gathering and prioritizing market and customer requirements, defining and executing the product roadmap, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, delivery, marketing, and customer support.
As a domain expert in work management processes, you will leverage your depth of knowledge in both the telecommunications and utilities domains, along with your understanding of related processes such as network design, construction management, and operations. Additionally, you should have a solid background in geospatial, IT/technology, and cloud technology concepts as they apply to these industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Voice of the Customer, understanding their needs, buying behaviors, and business imperatives.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our work management application functionality.
- Gather customer workflows and user stories/product requirements, clearly document them, and effectively communicate them to the Engineering teams.
- Monitor the competition, their positioning, and incorporate this knowledge into the product vision and roadmap.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other teams, particularly Engineering, as a domain and technology subject matter expert in work management.
- Regularly validate that ongoing product development delivers value and meets the desired outcomes of specific workflows/use cases.
- Present and discuss products and related roadmaps with customers and at internal events.
- Collaborate with product marketing to generate impactful material that demonstrates the value and benefits of our products.
- Assess and establish sales and technology partnerships with internal stakeholders and third parties.
- Implement and follow appropriate product management processes to ensure smooth and timely operation of all related processes.
- Participate in industry events to increase market visibility and influence market direction as a thought leader.
- Present the current state of development to internal and external stakeholders, and incorporate feedback into subsequent user story refinement and prioritization.
- Prioritize feature backlogs, coordinated with the Head of Product Management and other team members.
- Monitor the telecommunications, utilities, geospatial, and IT/cloud industries/markets to identify emerging trends and ensure new business opportunities are reflected in the roadmap.
- Build strong working relationships and exert influence across product management, engineering, and other stakeholder groups to successfully execute business strategy.
- Champion the vision and strategy of the products set by the Head of Product Management, and articulate the roadmap and value propositions to all parts of the organization.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Subject matter expertise in project management and/or operations in telecommunications.
- Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of geospatial technology.
- 3+ years of industry/technical experience, ideally with a leadership background.
- Proficiency with product management software, e.g., Atlassian Suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, etc.).
- Ability to evangelize concepts beyond current offerings and consider business model innovation (product, service, and delivery innovations).
- Ability to build direct and "behind the scenes" support for ideas, and leverage chains of indirect influence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-starter ability to take the initiative and drive forward new ideas and change.
- Proficiency with Office 365.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer-facing skills.
- Effective communication with remote/global teams.
- Strong business analysis, problem-solving, and strategy development skills.
- Ability to balance competing priorities of stakeholders.
- 2+ years of product management experience interacting with software development.
- Knowledge/understanding of cloud-related technologies and approaches.
- Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of workforce management applications and processes.
Education and Other Requirements:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), or a GIS-related subject.
- Willingness to travel globally.
- Preferred location: North American east coast (must be based in the US/Canada) or the company's office in Denver, USA.
