We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Owner to drive the backlog for our underwriting and financial product teams. This role involves setting the vision for our products, ensuring alignment with stakeholder needs, and driving change through experimentation with new features and technologies. The ideal candidate will provide visibility over the backlog and roadmap, ensuring we deliver the highest quality product features, support, and service levels.
Key Responsibilities: Set the vision for underwriting and onboarding products, aligning them with company goals.Define, prioritize, and communicate short, mid, and long-term project goals.Collaborate with stakeholders to identify needs and drive necessary changes.Manage and provide visibility over the product backlog and roadmap.Establish reliable and reputable third-party partnerships.Maintain compliance and regulatory standards, ensuring zero tolerance for breaches.Conduct discussions with engineers to guide product development.Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Risk, Legal, and Finance.Requirements: 2+ years of experience working in banking/finance-related business areas (e.g., loans, payments, banking, etc.).10+ years of experience working on technical products (e.g., platforms, distributed systems, data science, machine learning).2+ years of experience managing people and cross-functional teams.Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand their business needs.Experience translating business needs into well-defined and actionable functional requirements.Ability to define, document, and validate user requirements through use cases, user stories, or other techniques.Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting the needs of the project team.Structured backlog prioritization strategies.Ability to follow standard operating procedures in every stage of the development process, ensuring all project work is captured and organized accordingly.Ability to build partnerships with other functions.Fluency in English with outstanding written and oral communication skills.Preferred Qualifications: Experience with underwriting processes and understanding of the credit lifecycle.Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks in the financial sector.Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.What we offerYopeso has been developing a diverse range of software products, from large-scale applications to smaller solutions, for 19 years.
