Fairport, NY is the headquarters for the Bosch Security Systems sales organization in the United States and serves as the primary site for research and development, engineering, quality, and product management for intrusion detection systems, including state-of-the-art sensors, control panels, communicators and more.
Job DescriptionThis is NOT a Manufacturing Quality role. The Product Quality Manager works with cross functional project teams to ensure product and process quality improvement, meets high Bosch standards. The role has global responsibility to manage end to end quality of the product development life cycle and product portfolio. A successful candidate will actively participate in preventive quality, product development, R&D risk analysis and root cause investigation. This individual contributor position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic team environment with diverse individuals and groups located worldwide.
The ideal candidate will have high level of self-motivation, a drive for self-development, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; in addition to strong analytical skills, a committed attention to detail, and the ability to work within a structured product development process. This hybrid role will require the ideal candidate to be onsite in our Fairport, NY office full time for the first 2 months of employment to get acclimated to our people, process and products. A Hybrid work week can be arranged after that with expectations of being in the office 2-3 times per week.
Responsibilities: Responsible for product and process quality within a gated product engineering process.Assess the maturity and quality of hardware and software products in the engineering product quality role.Train and mentor associates on the various quality methods including risk analysis and root cause investigation.Monitor field performance using global returns database.Support the corrective action process using the 8D principles.Work closely with manufacturing plant to address product and process quality issues.Support engineering team with design of experiments (DOE).Identify and lead product and process continuous improvement projects (CIP) throughout the organization.Qualifications3-5 years' experience as a quality professional.Expert in quality methods, e.g.- QFD, CTQ, FMEA, DRBFM.BS in engineering discipline or related technical degree with 5+ years relevant experience preferred.Knowledge of software development and quality.Experience with MS excel and Minitab (or other statistical software).Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills.Ability to work across global time zones.Preferred Qualifications: DFSS experience in software/ electronic hardware design and development.Measurement system analysis (e.g.- Gage R&R).Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.By choice, we are committed to a diverse workforce - EOE/Protected Veteran/Disabled.BOSCH is a proud supporter of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) Initiatives: FIRST Robotics (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and AWIM (A World In Motion)Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
