This position is responsible for reading and analyzing shop drawings and store layouts for the purpose of routing orders through the plant in the most efficient and least costly manner possible considering the processes and resources available.
Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:
Prepare fabrication routes by:
Selecting appropriate material, i.e., coil size
Determine tooling available in brakes or Amada
Make brake tooling selection and coordinating with the machine shop for modifications needed.
Determine welding needs - spot welding, arc welding, and appropriate fixturing
Determine appropriate production rates for each of the above and perform necessary data entry to set up the route
Prepare finishing routes by:
Estimating set up time and run time for paint shop
Estimating set up time and run time for packaging department
Estimating set up time and run time for final assembly, including determination of drill patterns and fixturing and coordinating needs with the machine shop
Perform necessary data entry to set up the route
Structure orders for production by Reading store layouts/blueprints
Selecting equipment needed per customer drawings, identifying new items, and coordinating their manufacture with engineering
Set up the store and enter appropriate data into manufacturing system
Set up new items by run quantity, code parts, and file information
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications / Skills:
Be able to read shop drawings and store layout
Working knowledge of AS400
