Position Summary The Production Assistant II assists the Production Manager, Warehouse Manager and/or Production Planner in the preparation of irradiation runs or EtO batches, process and load documentation, certificates of processing and shipping documentation. Provides Customers with documents, schedules and information. Assists in the maintenance 
of Customer specifications. Schedules the processing of Customer product. Trains Production Assistant I to assist in scheduling.
Duties Operational Excellence (100%)
Assists in the processing of Customer product within GMP's, regulations and Customer requirements; monitors and responds to customer inquiries regarding status. Reviews the receipt documentation of incoming product; obtains product case dimensions, weight, densities, and prepares loading diagrams; prepares and disseminates processing documentation; prepares load packets; maintains cycle development documentation; monitors processing run files and Customer specification records; controls product samples, BI's, residual samples and lot samples including receipt, verification and shipment. Verifies and documents production processing data and ensures accuracy and timeliness of results.  Performs production activities. Generates runs, [may provide certificate of processing generation, document transmittal, document non-conforming product disposition] and distributes documents. Performs post run temperature/RH sensor verifications. Performs post process file close out activities, including data and calculation of processing time. Conducts freight traces and physical inventories; reconciles product damage reports, and/or paperwork discrepancies with Customer. Develops and revises product loading and palletization specifications. Schedules the processing of Customer product; prioritizes shifting demands; ensures accuracy and timing for Customers. Trains Production Assistant I to assist with scheduling. Contributes in a team effort by performing in accordance to all STERIS policies, GMP, Lean principles and other directives; supports the directives and decisions of higher-level management and performs other duties as assigned Education Degree High School Diploma or GED Required Experience Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an office, production or Customer service environment.
Skills Knowledge of production processes and quality control. Ability to read, write and verbally communicate. Ability to follow work instructions.  Ability to complete and manage documentation.  Ability to verify information for accuracy.  Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in documentation. Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision. Ability to monitor processes, materials, and surroundings.  Ability to schedule product processing with competing demands. Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities. Skill in attention to detail. Skill in taking the initiative to identify and resolve production processing problems.  Skill in working with others.  Skill in providing customer service. Skill in completing documentation.  Skill in basic use of a computer to include word processing, spreadsheet and software capabilities. Skill in organizing, prioritizing and managing time.  Skill in performing basic mathematic calculations (basic arithmetic functions in all units of measurement, decimals ratios, rates, percentages). Normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, etc. Work Styles: Attention to detail, Dependability, Initiative Pay range for this opportunity is $15.99 - $22.33. This position is eligible for [BONUS PARTICIPATION] OR a [INSERT COMMISSION RATE RANGE, IF APPLICABLE] commission.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
