The Production Associate uses his/her training in quality, operational procedures/processes, and occupational health and safety, to produce quality parts, on time, and in a safe manner to meet or exceed our customer requirements. The Production Associate assembles product using assigned equipment and machinery according to Standard Work instructions; operates material handling equipment; performs Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), daily care, safety checks and preventive maintenance; attends pre-shift meetings and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Your ResponsibilitiesFollows Standard Work instructions and Training within Industry (TWI) standards for each work station.Performs TPM/Daily Care and safety checks per instructions and as assigned.Participates in Preventive Maintenance (PM) and cleaning of equipment/machinery as assigned; e.g., weld tips changes, spool changes, etc.Adheres to 5S organization procedures for each station/area and for the entire plant.Ensures all material is replenished, set-up and in its proper place to prevent and/or eliminate downtime.Ensures Work-in-Progress (WIP) meets quality standards by performing visual and documented inspections on parts as required by the customer. Can describe defects that are being looked for at each station he/she runs.Who we are looking forAbility to understand, anticipate and follow direction while exercising maturity of judgement.Must be able to interact effectively with other team members.Good coordination of movement to carry out routine, repetitive tasks.Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time in a manufacturing environment.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.Your preferred qualificationsHigh school diploma; or General Educational Development (GED) certification.Good listening and communication (verbal and written) skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a team environment or independently to perform duties with little supervision.Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and with a variable workload.
