Job Description:
We are seeking a Production Expeditor to join our fast-growing team.
The ideal candidate will have a proven history of inventory management and material expediting in a production environment.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate across many facets of business operations in a production environment.
As an Expeditor, you will ensure production schedules, deadlines, and quotas are met by overseeing the flow of materials, components, tooling, and paperwork among departments, and by taking action to solve problems and fulfill rush orders.
In addition, you will maintain our inventory database and ensure all parts have traceability within our MRP system.
Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain accurate levels of onsite inventory by utilizing MRP system.
Reviews and expedites materials per work orders and understand their priorities.
Identifies problems in workflows, determines required solutions and improvements, implements necessary modifications in affected departments and teams.
Maintains quality and standards by identifying product defects during receiving process and escalates to the proper personnel.
Performs receiving and shipping duties daily.
Operate under 5-S practices and principles.
Perform cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Lead and conduct inventory audits.
Work with supply chain to keep inventory accurate and materials in stock.
Produce performance and metric reports to support departmental KPI's.
Analyze & forecast inventory trends.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive inventory accuracy and deliverability.
Maintains a clean and functional inventory area.
Breakdown of pallets and shipping boxes and manages their disposal.
Manage surplus inventory.
Responsible for processing and disposal/recycling of all scrap materials.
Assist with cardboard and production trash disposal.
Assist EHS and Facilities with their departmental inventories.
Assemble inventory assembly kits.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Proven experience in inventory control, receiving, or material expediting role (In a manufacturing environment is a plus).
Strong analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Proficient in using inventory management software (experience with ION is a plus).
Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on process improvement.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to be on your feet long periods of time and ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast past production environment with deadlines.
Forklift experience is a plus.
Knowledge of 5-S and its practices is a plus.
Must be a team player in a cross functional environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in word, excel, and Microsoft teams' software platforms.
HS diploma or equivalent required.
$20 - $25 an hour
