Buffalo Tungsten is hiring for a Production Manager!
We are a world leading supplier of high-quality powders based on the metal Tungsten. Our products are used in the manufacturing of high-tech components in the tooling, automotive, aerospace, energy, infrastructure, electronics, and mining industry. The raw materials for our complex production processes come from our own mine, other concentrates, and the recycling of production waste and scrap. What you will be doing: Supervise Production Employees
• Assure that safety procedures are being followed
• Ensure communication and coordination between shifts
• Motivate employees and hold them accountable through progressive discipline
• Understand and communicate employee needs to management
• Review time and attendance records for accuracy
• Conduct performance evaluations
• Interview and hire new employeesSchedule Employees
• Make sure we have adequate manpower for each shift
• Be on call for staffing problems during shift changes at 12am, 8am, and 4pm
• Interview and hire new personnel as neededManage Production Work
• Make sure all scheduled production tasks are accomplished
• Assure that accurate production records are kept
• Assure that shipments to customers are packed securely and labeled correctly
• Make sure that outgoing shipments are ready for pickup
• Check inventory on production essentials and reorder as necessaryProduction Employee Training
• Train new employees on company procedures and job responsibilities
• Hold monthly meetings for training on production procedures and safety
• Develop training methods, procedures, and checklists for production operators
• Model effective leadership and hold monthly training meeting for shift leadmenRequirements: Organizational and leadership abilitiesCommunication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivatedProblem-solving skillsExperience: Minimum 3-5 years experience supervising employeesExperience implementing progressive discipline for employeesWork experience in manufacturing environment is desirableExperience developing and implementing training proceduresMust be able to read, write, and speak English fluentlyHours: Generally M-F, 7:30-4:30 to touch base with all three shifts. Hours will be adjusted by choice or as directed by management to spend more time on second and third shift and weekends. Must be available on call to handle staffing issues with shift changeovers at 8am, 4pm, and 12am.
Pay Range : 65k - 80k based on experience
