Summary Statement The Production Manager must have a broad knowledge of New Construction related to Shipbuilding. Must be computer literate. He/she must comply and enforce all safety procedures and guidelines and comply and enforce all company issued policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. He/she must also have excellent work ethics as well as attendance, punctuality, and the desire to lead the Production Team in all aspects of Shipbuilding.
Education/Experience/Responsibilities Must have at least 5 years experience in fabrication of various assemblies and sub-assemblies.Must have knowledge of material flow and capacity at Senesco Marine.Ensure all items are built per drawing and meet specifications and quality standards.Ability to read and understand blueprints and assembly drawing to direct flow of work throughout the Shipyard.Develop and lead the planned work in the shop's accordingly. Indentify and report conditions which could delay scheduled completion dates and budget overruns. Propose and manage solutions to such situations.Manage and motivate Supervisors as they lead their craft employees (direct reports).Oversee Fabrication, Assembly and Erection Supervision Team and work with maintenance, scheduling, engineering, quality control and production to assure work is completed on budget and time.Report daily to Vice President of Operations with any personnel or safety issues, schedule delays, manpower problems, engineering support or reworks.Responsible for Logistics and Production of fabricated parts through the fabrication shop Assembly shops and Erection area. Areas of Responsibility include:Fabrication ShopAssembly ShopErection Area Logistics and timing of material movement within the Fabrication, Assembly and Erection areas.Assure correct manning of the shops to budgeted levels to accomplish the production goalsResponsible for weekly progression of work authorization.Attend morning production meetingsWork with maintenance/facilities to plan and direct resources to resolve any issues that impairs the production goal.Must possess good communication skills and ability to accomplish the required assignments within the designated time frames.Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management and different departments.Must possess a willingness to learn new techniques.Must be detail oriented and have excellent follow up skills.Responsible for Shipyard area cleanlinessDevelop subordinates and task them with shipyard management responsibilities.Follow attendance and enforce progressive discipline for employees with attendance problems.Enforce all company policies and safety guidelines.Interact and direct daily work schedule with Fabrication, Assembly and Erection supervisors. Physical Demands The employee must have correctable vision to 20/40, however contact lenses are not permitted in certain production area positions.The employee must pass the Ishihara test for color blindness and have the ability to read and understand safety symbols and colors, (i.e. red, yellow, green, etc.).The employee must pass a pulmonary function exam for positions requiring respiratory protection.The employee must be able to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, stoop, or climb stairs or a ladder.The employee must be able to carry tools and or equipment to their designated work area. They could include but are not limited to the tools associated with their trade, or others as designated by their responsibilities. The approximate weight could be as much as 75 pounds.The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to respirator, hardhat, face shield, safety goggles, safety shoes (steel toe), safety harness, gloves or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis.The employee must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.The employee must report to their supervisor any and all damages to equipment, or broken and misused tools. The employee may be working in several different areas and environments; this includes work inside and outside of buildings or structures.The employee needs to work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.
