Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock is adding a Production Supervisor role to lead our Sub-Assembly production line. In this exciting role your primary responsibility will be to drive the production team in continuous improvement of safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
This role will encompass using Lean Manufacturing principles both on the production floor and during the production planning phases. You will lead the team in technical problem solving for topics including standard and non-standard work, tooling, material flow, safety, engineering drawings and BOMs, and process improvements.
What your day may look like:
Reviewing engineering drawings and 3D models using PTC Creo to understand manufacturing process requirements, including job sequence, workflow, and takt time.
Defining key production work steps, sequences, and durations, and setting up work scope on a per-station or per-cell basis.
Generating and improving material flow paths and logistical needs for each production work order, both in an MRP system and on the production floor (material handling).
Preparing future production floor layouts to meet planned takt time and schedule.
Creating standardized work instructions.
Setting up stations with proper fixtures, templates for drilling, small components, mounting, tooling, and equipment.
Providing critical process control guidance to production, maintenance, and quality control teams to enhance the dimensional accuracy and overall quality of products.
Coordinating and communicating technical information across all levels of the organization, including vendors, project managers, production team members, and operations managers.
What you will need to be successful:
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong project management skills, including the development of project plans, timelines/schedules, budgets, proposed layouts, and resource requirements.
Practical knowledge and experience in implementing lean methodologies.
Proven hands-on approach to problem-solving and countermeasure implementation within areas of responsibility.
Experience with various types of bills of materials used in both engineering and production.
We would be impressed if you have:
5+ years of experience in planning and launching new production lines in low-speed environments (e.g., rail, aviation/aerospace, naval, heavy equipment).
Experience in the rail industry, especially in light or heavy rail production.
Knowledge of SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems.
Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Certification, OSHA Safety, Certified Manufacturing Engineer, Supply Management, EIT, or Professional Engineering License.
Practical experience in customer service, maintenance, or aftermarket businesses within the rail industry.
Expertise in lean methods and tools (e.g., 5S, 7 Types of Waste, root cause analysis, Yamazumi Methods, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, ABC-XYZ Analysis, Lean Shop Floor Management).
Experience developing technology roadmaps for automation.

The base salary for this position is $98,300- $120,00.The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
