Position Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished leader to fill the role of ourFirst ShiftProduction Supervisor in our Final Assembly Locomotivedepartment. The Production Supervisor will oversee a team of Electrical and Mechanical assemblers responsible for building locomotives. In this role, you will be accountable for the safety, quality, and productivity of your team, as well as managing overall costs and schedules. You will supervise teams across multiple shifts, supported by one to three Group Leads, and manage team sizes typically ranging from 15 to 60 people.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, positive, and dynamic leader who thrives on change and is deeply passionate about manufacturing. Attention to detail, organization, and a focus on continuous improvement will be key to success in this position.

What your day may look like:
Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, ensuring alignment with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) metrics.
Maintain a safe work environment, enforce safety protocols, and conduct regular safety audits.
Monitor and uphold quality standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Manage production schedules to meet delivery goals and collaborate with other departments to optimize workflow.
Ensure budget hours, delivery schedules, and production duration goals are met consistently.
Conduct performance reviews to provide constructive feedback and support employee growth.
Train, mentor, and evaluate production employees to foster continuous improvement and professional development.
Administer disciplinary actions when necessary, ensuring adherence to company policies and maintaining a fair and respectful workplace.
Maintain accurate team rosters and payroll records.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Must-Have Skills and Behaviors:
Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment (2+ years preferred).
Proven leadership and diverse team management skills.
Strong understanding of production processes and attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to evolving production demands and thrive under pressure.
Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts as needed.

What will make you successful in this role:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience), Sociology.
Proven experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong understanding of production methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Knowledge of SAP and data analysis tools.
2+ years' experience as a line lead or group leader.
Previous experience in a similar supervisory role and customer service.
Military Experience: Prior military background demonstrating strong leadership and discipline.

This position in located in Sacramento, CA.The salary range for this position is $98,300- $120,000 per year.The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
