The Electrical Carbon Business of Morgan Advanced Materials designs and manufactures a broad range of high performance solutions for rotary transfer systems, linear transfer systems and electrical carbon systems.

Major Responsibilities: A 12-hour continuous operations position, from 6pm-6am, following a continuous operations schedule that will result in working one week 36 hours and the alternate week 48 hours Achieve daily throughput requirements and suggest and implement methods for continuous improvement of production equipment, processes, or operating conditions Work closely with the General Supervisor and the Scheduler in day-to-day operations within their department Communication will be essential in day-to-day operations Accomplish manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures Essential Functions: Safety: Has accountability for the monitoring and training of the unique hazards involved within the department; in addition, maintain a safe work place through adherence to company policies on safety including monthly safety inspections, observations, following of plant rules, and communications of potential hazards to management and maintenance for correction Manage material flow in and out of the area Advise management of improvements that would aid in the improvement of the function of the job, safety, quality and/or productivity Good computer skills: PowerPoint, Excel, ADP, AS400, etc. Drive Lean and 6S improvements in the department and maintain already introduced requirements. Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules and resolving problems Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change Maintain working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement Other duties as assigned. High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum of an Associate Degree preferred and 3 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment Previous Supervisor or Equivalent Experience a plus Experience in the principles of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 6S and STOP would be a definite plus Individual must be a Citizen of the United States, or Permanent resident alien of the United States, or Protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) (22 CFR §120.15.)
