Position Overview:
As a Professional Land Surveyor working with our team in Charlotte, NC, you will play a key role in leading surveying projects, overseeing survey teams, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of survey data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land surveying, a current Professional Land Surveyor license, and the ability to provide expert guidance to support the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage land surveying projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Oversee successful boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking in accordance with project requirements. Review and interpret legal documents, including deeds, plats, and easements. Provide expert guidance on complex surveying issues and offer solutions to ensure accurate and reliable data collection. Supervise and mentor surveying team members, including Survey Party Chiefs, CAD Technicians, and Survey Technicians. Oversee the preparation of survey deliverables, including plats, maps, and drawings. Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project goals and expectations. Ensure the quality control of survey data, including the review of field notes, sketches, and calculations. Stay informed about industry advancements, regulations, and emerging technologies in land surveying. Uphold ethical and professional standards in all surveying activities. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or a related field. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in NC Minimum of 15 years of experience in the Civil Engineering and Land Surveying Industry. Strong understanding of land surveying principles, methodologies, and best practices. Proficiency in the use of surveying equipment, including total stations and GPS. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Familiarity with relevant state and local regulations and surveying standards. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Compensation:
