The Program Assistant performs specialized technical/clerical duties in support of the myWSU student records system.They provide information and interpretation of policies and activities related to academic advising and program reinstatement.They also assist with front desk operations and communication.

Responsibilities
• Perform complex clerical projects specific to myWSU and the Reinstatement program• Provide information and interpretation of policies and activities related to academic advising, program plan and advisor changes, major and minor admit updates, academic tutoring, and academic reinstatement.• Create written communications and maintain electronic and manual record keeping/filing systems and/or database files• Assist with front desk operations including appointment scheduling, responding to inquiries and requests for information, processing mail, and greeting/directing department clientele• General responsibilities related to front-line/reception communication
Requirements
• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience• Previous experience with customer service• Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications• Willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges• Ability to take initiative and work independently• Organizational skills• Ability to multi-task and complete assignments with frequent interruptions
