YWCA is currently seeking a Program Director to join our team! The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of YWCA programs. Working closely with the Chief Program Officer (CPO), the Program Director will ensure that programs are aligned with the YWCA's mission, strategic goals, and budget. The role involves managing program leadership, maintaining program quality, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Leadership
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate program staff, providing guidance on professional development and performance improvement.
- Foster a collaborative team culture and encourage innovative approaches to program delivery.
- Coordinate training and capacity-building opportunities for staff.
- Promote a positive work environment that encourages diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Provide clear and concise communication that engages and motivates employees toward desired goals.
- Work with YWCA Leadership to develop and monitor program budgets.
Safety/Security
- Maintain the safety and security of the Shelter and Housing facilities through the development of safe operating procedures and ensuring proper operation of security systems.
- Ensure that policies and procedures for all programs are developed, updated, and carried out.
- Appropriately handle crisis situations and train/prepare staff for circumstances including, but not limited to, emergency evacuation, intruder, etc.
Program Development and Management
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of high-quality programs that align with YWCA's mission and goals.
- Collaborate with the CPO to evaluate current programs, identify opportunities for expansion or improvement, and design new initiatives.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all YWCA programming.
- Ensure all programs comply with relevant regulations, funding requirements, and organizational policies.
- Monitor program outcomes and prepare regular reports both internally and externally.
- Oversee the collection of program data and ensure accurate reporting on program impact and outcomes.
- Assist in evaluating the impact and effectiveness of YWCA programs.
Partnerships and Collaborations
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community organizations, donors, government agencies, and other partners.
- Represent YWCA at meetings and public events related to programmatic initiatives.
- Provide informational tours of YWCA facilities.
- Educate and advocate on behalf of YWCA and the participants that receive services.
Other Job Duties
- Prompt and reliable attendance is required.
- Provide current certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Assume duties required of CPO, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's level education preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in program management, including supervision of staff.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with budget oversight and management.
- Must live within 15 minutes of Shelter for timely response to emergencies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Must have valid driver's license and maintain appropriate auto insurance. Must be able to travel off site as needed.
- Proficient in program evaluation and data analysis.
- Meets all background check requirements.
- An understanding of, appreciation for, and support of the mission of the YWCA Cass Clay; eliminating racism and empowering women.
Requirements:
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. While performing the responsibilities for this position, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, push, carry and drive frequently. The employee will also be required to twist at waist, squat, kneel, stoop, crouch and reach overhead occasionally. Standing in place and sitting at desk for prolonged periods of time are performed occasionally. Repetitive keying, data entry, wrist motion, and reaching above shoulders are performed frequently. Lifting up to 20 lbs. from shoulder to overhead is occasional, carrying and pulling up to 20 lbs. is performed frequently and pushing up to 40 lbs. is performed frequently.
