Job Summary: In support of the Wisconsin office of the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC-WI) and under the direction of the MATEC-WI Clinical Director, the Program Director supervises the planning and implementation of MATEC-WI training and educational programs and activities. The Program Director is responsible for planning and leading operational, outreach, and promotional activities of service grants and serves as a subject matter expert. In this role, the Program Director supervises a staff team, as well as develops a strategic plan for delivering training and capacity building activities for healthcare teams.
MATEC-WI is part of a regional, HRSA federally-funded HIV/AIDS training and education center (AETC) for health care professionals and is based at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, with outreach to other locations in the state.
The ability to communicate and work effectively in a wide variety of contexts will be essential as the work involves planning and coordinating educational activities for health care providers and clinical staff working in diverse settings.
Responsibilities: Plans and leads operational, outreach, and promotional activities of a research program and serves as a subject matter expert. 20% Plans and directs the day-to-day operational activities of one or multiple research programs or units according to established research objectives in alignment with strategic plans and initiatives 25% Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program developments and information 10% Plans, develops, and implements processes and protocols to support research aims 15% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees 20% Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives 5% Monitors program budget(s) and approves unit expenditures 5% Develops policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. Education: Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Relevant areas of specialization include, but are not limited to, health or human services fields such as health education, adult education or public health.

Qualifications: Required:
*Minimum of three years experience in health education, continuing education or professional development or health-related program planning and evaluation.
*Previous staff supervision experience.
*Experience successfully managing multiple projects, thoughtfully prioritizing work tasks, and following projects through to completion.
*Experience assessing and meeting the needs of a diverse group of learners.
Preferred:
*Experience working with health care professionals, in a clinical setting, and/or in HIV-related work.
License/Certification: Required
Drivers License - Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards
Travel is required. Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage. Work Type: Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary: Minimum $72,100 ANNUAL (12 months)
