Under the direction of the COO and in accordance with established Association policies, procedures, and goals, the Healthy Living Program Director is responsible for managing and supervising the Healthy Living programs and equipment as well as developing, managing, and supervising Youth Sports programs.
A bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of experience in the health and fitness arena and/or two years of experience in Youth Sports/Youth Recreation/Sports Recreation. Current national certification in personal training, CPR, First Aid, and AED required. Must have the ability to work with, and support youth, adults, and families in their development. Management skills in staff/volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and knowledge of program planning and promotion are preferred. This position requires one to be enthusiastic and able to work a flexible schedule as needed. The ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines is necessary. Computer literacy with the ability to create and edit flyers to Y marketing standards is necessary - must be able to use email, properly draft letters and other written correspondence. Must be able to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Have a genuine interest in people and the ability to establish harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members, parents, and children.
Management skills in staff/volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and knowledge of program planning and promotion are required. Must be personable and have good written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate professional conduct and be team player-oriented. Position requires an understanding of and commitment to the mission and principles of the YMCA including the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
