Description The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is recruiting for a Program Director for the Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatric Residency Program at The Mount Sinai Hospital. The combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinaiis dedicated to reducing inequities in marginalized and oppressed populations by training leaders in Medicine-Pediatrics primary care. We seek a leader in medical education and social justice to serve as Program Director. TheIcahn Mount SinaiMedicine-Pediatrics Residency Program currently consists of 16 residents.

The Program Director administers and maintains a residency program that is conducive to exceptional clinical learning and professional development. In addition to excellent clinical and leadership skills, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of academic excellenceand collaboration with marginalized communities,and possess knowledge of ACGME policies, procedures and program requirements.

Reports to: System Vice Chair for Education, Department of Medicine (primary) and Vice Chair for Education, Department of Pediatrics.

Responsibilities Oversee and ensure the quality of didactic and clinical education in all sites that participate in the residency program. Where appropriate, collaborate with the categorical Medicine and categorical Pediatric residency programs and our community partners in the completion of each of the following:
Approve the selection of program faculty at each site.Evaluate program faculty and approve their continued participation in the Residency Program.Monitor resident supervision at all participating sites.Prepare and submit all materials required by the ACGME, including but not limited to program information forms and annual program resident updates to the Accreditation Data System - ADS.Conduct semiannual evaluations of residents' performance and provide feedback.Ensure compliance with institutional grievance and due process procedures.Provide verification of education for all residents, including those who leave the program prior to completion.Implement policies and procedures consistent with the institutional and program requirements for resident duty hours and the working environment, including moonlighting, distribution of policies and procedures to the residents and faculty, and adjust schedules as necessary to mitigate excessive service demands and/or fatigue.Monitor the need for and ensure the provision of back up support systems when patient care responsibilities are difficult or prolonged.Comply with the sponsoring institution's written policies and procedures, including those specified in the institutional requirements, for selection, evaluation and promotion of residents, disciplinary action, and supervision of residents.Be familiar with and comply with ACGME and Review Committee policies.Work with the Institutional GMEC/DIO on various ACGME accreditation related requests and reports.Collaborate with our East Harlem communities to ensure program practices and policies are aligned with our stated program mission.Regularly assess and promote resident well-being while fostering an environment in which diversity, equity and inclusion are at the forefront of residents' clinical and academic experiences.Compensation range from 260K to 317K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits) Qualifications Medical Degree from an Accredited UniversityNew York State Medical License (or eligible)Board Certified in Internal Medicine and PediatricsMust have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Graduate Medical Education and/or community health leadershipExcellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skillsOutstanding interpersonal, leadership, mentoring and teaching skillsDemonstrated ability to form authentic partnerships with local community leaders and community-based organizationsExperience in anti-racist pedagogyA strong work ethic and desire to participate in team-oriented, performance-driven Health SystemSalary Disclosure Information: Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
