Program Director, Strong Families, The Richard L. Duchossois FoundationThe Richard L. Duchossois Foundation (RLDF) was founded in 2022 and launched formal operation in 2024.
The Foundation is committed to addressing seemingly intractable social problems with imagination and passion.
We strive to improve the lives of families and veterans, and to cultivate entrepreneurs through data-driven and collaborative approaches to funding.
We seek to practice philanthropy with rigor and from a place of listening and strive to be a learning organization – to always seek greater understanding of our funding priorities.
While our home and our priority is the Chicago region, we may consider national efforts that are aligned with our mission, values, and goals.

Initial interests for the Strong Families program include three family components: Child & Youth Opportunity: Our grantmaking will focus on efforts to support families with young children.
This will include early education and pre-school readiness programs and home visit and access to health care initiatives.
Our grantmaking will also support efforts to nurture the growth of young people through essential adolescent mental health supports, and core youth mentoring and development programs.Parental Opportunity: Our efforts will focus on helping parents create caring, nurturing, and financially stable home environments.
We support organizations with a track record of providing career and technical education, as well as the support of high school and college degree attainment – with a particular focus on resources for sole-caregiver homes.
RLDF will support a select number of parenting education programs with demonstrated track records of success.Financial Opportunity: RLDF will support organizations and efforts that help low-income families create pathways to economic mobility, financial independence, and stability.
RLDF will support programs that help these families manage money and create wealth, build credit, reduce debt, and access stable housing and home ownership.
