About Us: The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway (UDSB) offers access to some of the finest recreational opportunities in the northeastern United States, which runs alongside the Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River National Park. Our 501(c)3 organization develops and promotes a multitude of activities and experiences that educate the public, protect local landscapes, and enhance the Scenic Byway ridership with regional tourism industries. This further helps to drive economic prosperity for the towns and regions along the Byway. The Upper Delaware Scenic Byway was designated in 2002. We have an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager to join for an initial, six (6) month, independent contract. You'll be kicking off our 2025 initiatives and driving the 'roadmap' to the next level, showcasing all of the Byway's history and adventure* in a variety of ways!
*UDSB along NYS Route 97 is home to sightseeing, boating, camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, birdwatching, winter activities, cycling - and more!
Responsibilities We see four pillars as key to making our vision a reality - with a variety of projects and responsibilities within each:
Operations & Administration Develop and manage inter-connected projects and coordinate cross-project activities Troubleshoot higher scope issues arising from projects and committees Manage deadlines, budgets and activities Define and develop plans inclusive of templates, processes, and reportingBuild relationships within the organization , promoting transparency on status and open issues within projects and responsibilities, facilitating regular communications, and preparing project artifacts "Roll up your sleeves" and own execution of full scale internal and external programs while maintaining high levels of service Initiatives & Strategy Monitor and optimize program performance and aim to maximize ROI Identify, apply for, execute, manage and promote grants and funding opportunities to supportDevelop new sources of revenue Maximize existing revenue streams Assist buildout and programming plans for the UDSB Visitor Center Branding, Identity & Storytelling Identify and implement continuous brand improvement opportunities to drive scalability and reach - including UDSB website, social media management, external partnerships, vendor managementDevelop and create Exhibits & Displays to interest and engage both tourists, visitors and the local community. Help us meet people where they are with the creation of mobile audio/video tours. Community Engagement Recruit, engage and manage volunteers for a Friends of the UDSB group. Establish UDSB as a community and tourism magnet. Facilitate a partnership of trust and engagement with the local community. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 4 years experience working in an operations, project/program or non-profit management capacity Strong operational skills including project management, business requirements gathering, and relationship management, administrative management Distinctive problem-solving and analytical skills combined with impeccable business judgment Passion for details, responsiveness, and organization Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; direct experience communicating with internal and external stakeholders Significant entrepreneurial drive, and willingness to roll up sleeves to directly solve challenging problems Preferred Qualifications Prior non-profit management experience Experience applying for, managing, implementing grant-based funding. The ability to frequently travel from along Route 97 (from Hancock, NY to Port Jervis, NY and everywhere in between!), and availability to be present in-person at the new UDSB Visitors Center located within the Callicoon Depot (currently under construction) will be necessary to fulfill the Services of this contract.
