Job Summary/Objective:

The Program Recruitment and Education Coordinator is primarily responsible for the recruitment of, and determining the income eligibility of, qualified homeowner applicants in Hernando County.
The Program Recruitment and Education Coordinator is also responsible for assisting in the recruitment of volunteers to participate in Habitat for Humanity events throughout Hernando County and coordinating and instructing homebuyer education classes to homeowner candidates.
This position requires direct engagement of businesses, schools, community groups, and churches.


Essential Functions

Oversee and conduct of pre-application appointments in Hernando County and determine income eligibility by calculating each household's Area Median Income percentage, the amount the household is estimated to pay towards a Habitat mortgage not to exceed 30%, and the household's percentage of debt to income not to exceed 41%.
Recruit, determine as qualified, and recommend to the Homeowner Services Committee through the Executive Director a pre-determined number of applicants to the homeownership program.
The Chief Program Officer will accept the recommendations from the Homeowner Services Committee and present to the Board of Directors for final approval.
By direction of the Executive Director, meet with local businesses and groups to encourage support of new home construction and Habitat programs in the area.
Engage with, and recruit from, the local community to provide both volunteers and qualified homeowner applicants.
Ensure that every volunteer/homeownership inquiry is properly managed, documented, scheduled, and stewarded.
Provide timely telephone and email communications assuring high quality customer service.
Engage in public speaking events and attend various Habitat for Humanity functions and events to recruit qualified applicants.
In partnership with the Director of Program Education, provide homebuyer education per Affiliate requirements for homeowner candidates.
The Director of Program Education will provide syllabuses and materials for each class.
These classes will be primarily in the evenings.
Assist applicants, interested community members, and homeowner candidates with navigating the website, the application process, sweat equity, and education opportunities.
Work closely with the Chief Program Officer, Director of Program Education, Program Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator, Programs Manager, and Sr. Mortgage Operations Manager to ensure seamless adherence to updated Homeowner Services policy, procedure, and processes.

Education, Experience and Attributes Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study preferred.
Minimum of two years of previous related experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.
Ability to speak and write English fluently.
