What You'll Do The Program Specialist is based out of the YWCA's Greenbridge Learning Center, a WorkSource Connection site in White Center, King County's most diverse neighborhood. The position will be providing general administrative and programmatic support to the Greenbridge Program director, Program Coordinator, Career Navigators, Instructors. This role is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations work at the front desk including clerical, bookkeeping, record-keeping, network administration, and reception. As the first-person participants will meet, this position will help maintain a supportive, welcoming and inclusive environment. This position will also be directly supporting various YWCA programs as needed assistance to job seekers accessing Greenbridge Learning Center.
The Program Specialist directly supporting various managing databases to provide digital literacy, career development assistance, programming information and referrals (both in person and over the phone), appointment scheduling, and maintenance of the job bank and resource areas at Greenbridge site.

\n Expectations of your role:Provides day-to-day site coordination for the Greenbridge Learning Center, including the coordination of Economic Advancement services provided by staff and onsite partners.Answers multi-line phone system at Greenbridge site, direct calls, take messages and respond to general questions that callers have.Welcome and receives public and YWCA and partner clients and provides them with program and service information.Supports management by assisting with program goals and deliverablesResponsible for Greenbridge communications and e-mails and coordinates interoffice mailRefers clients and job seekers to appropriate WorkSource and Learning Center programs and staff if neededAssists with the development of schedules for services including career consultation appointments and workshops, updating and maintaining resource directories and monitoring the job bank Updates program and event brochures and flyersAssist job seekers, customers, staff, partners and interns as needed Job Bank and Training Room CoordinationAssists in cleaning and prepping the job bank and common areasAssists job seekers with basic computer questions and other job bank needs.Updates and maintains job bank bulletin boards and other public information dailyServe as a resource person for training classes, events or workshops Maintain supplies for job bank and training roomsPrepares training room for meetings and classes according to special instructions.Monitors facility use by the public and enforces facility use policiesStaff and Partner SupportSupport staff by assisting in building community partnerships, aligning and update services and markets and planning job fairs and hiring eventsNetworks and maintain contact with representatives of other social services providers and community colleges to exchange referrals and advocates as needed, based on YWCA race and social justice principlesRefers clients and job seekers to appropriate Greenbridge Learning Center programs and staff members and provide warm handoffs to program staffProvides career development focused on customer service and job search assistance to Greenbridge participants and job seekers using Greenbridge job bankCollaborate with staff and program managers on employer-of-the-day and hiring events, including job fairsDemonstrate ability to interact with people of different cultures.Other DutiesActively engages in the agency-wide Race and Social Justice Initiative (RSJI) and works to ensure racially equitable access to WorkSource services. Takes responsibility for creating and maintaining a safe and welcoming community, by ensuring that people of color, trans and gender-non-conforming folks, and other populations who routinely encounter systemic oppressions are made to feel welcome and included.Continue search for understanding of racial, gender and class equityAdheres to all Volunteer Services protocol relative to volunteer usage, recognition and monitoring. Work alongside volunteers, where applicableAssures that volunteers are treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, ethnic background, gender or socioeconomic background.Other duties as assigned.
