JOB SUMMARY:
This Programmer Analyst on the Data Management team plays a crucial role in building and supporting data assimilation and analytics efforts. This includes facilitating and improving data collection, streamlining existing data pipelines, developing new ones, and assisting with various programming needs. A key aspect of this role is ensuring that data is provided accurately and promptly to internal team members and other department partners. In addition, the Programmer Analyst will be responsible for other programming-related tasks as needed.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain existing ETL and continuously enhance these programs to improve data usability and accessibility. Proactively seek for technical risks and opportunities that can have an impact on the UPRV, GCC and associated business/channels and communicate them to management providing possible actions/solutions
Development and automation of processes and corresponding improvements in conjunction with departmental stakeholders;
Ensure daily data loads are successfully processed and act immediately on issues if any.
Work with other Team members of other departments that use UPRV data to facilitate their data needs and help with any data related questions
Work on custom applications and other programming tasks as needed by the team.
Work on self-directed special projects to enhance professional abilities, department initiatives, or efficiencies.
Maintain familiarity on all systems and processes utilized by the UDX UPRV Systems team
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is required.
EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of exemplary performance as an ETL programmer or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Solid understanding and experience working with databases and data transfer technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS
Working knowledge of building data pipelines using Python
Experience with incorporating and troubleshooting Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
Experience with Snowflake.
Experience in SSRS and Microsoft Power BI reporting platform will help in this position.
Familiarity with PowerShell scripts
Experience with designing and maintaining Microsoft Power platform tools like Power Apps and Power Automate is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is preferred but not required.
